Being HR, it is my aim to achieve business objectives & goals, fulfill staffing needs and maintain employees satisfaction. And I believe to build and sustain a successful business , the wellness of the employees must be maintained.
When I started thinking about the topic for my first article, the idea wasn’t hard. I thought lets write about the Babylon’s journey in Covid 19. I repeat COVID 19 !!!! An infectious disease that brought the world to standstill. It has threatened the world turning it to be a global pandemic resulting in lockdown in the countries. This lockdown lead to drastic effects on social & economical fronts and has forever changed our experiences―as customers, employees, citizens, humans.etc
As countries went in lockdown due to pandemic the industrial activity shut down globally. During the times of crisis & uncertainty where most of us were busy with Netflix and baking pan cakes, it was our courageous frontline warriors who stood like a true hero to protect us. Being in the healthcare sector having the team of frontliners who are working 24/7 to provide us care,the biggest challenge was to minimize impact of the pandemic on our Employees and to find ways to make sure every single person in the team feels like they have a battle that they can help solve. Inspite of being exhausted and over pressured they were working like never before. It becomes necessary to keep the motivation & morale high of our front liners as they are risking themselves and their families during the crisis. So, the overall goal of our Company was to improve the only tool we have and that is HUMAN!!!
To boost the confidence of our Employees we Babylon under the guidance of our Chairman Dr. Ammar Al Naji started working on initiatives to bring all the necessary changes. He made it sure to reach out to us through visual meeting and guide us to improve the management and be utmost caring towards each and every employee of the organization.
We have expressed our appreciation for employees’ efforts in many ways to make them feel how important they are to us and seeking for their requirements and feedback to ensure that they are not alone , they belong to us and the management always have their back. We implemented the program of “Refer and Earn bonus”,“Employee of the month” , “ leader of the season” to promote a culture of public praise, excellence awards and recognition.. Apart from the engagement program we ensure the safety of employees, reviewing the policies for maintaining good hygiene , providing disinfection, sanitizers, masks, gloves PPE etc on a timely manner.
Good communication is a key for a successful teamwork and this has helped us in gaining the loyalty of the employees in a long run and for sure inculcated a strong connection, increased productivity , higher quality in services, improved employee retention etc.
We salute our superheroes!!! The health of the world rests delicately on the shoulders of our healthcare workers. We personally like to thank all our frontliners: our Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Technicians, front desks staffs, cleaners , ambulance drivers etc. for working tirelessly , day in and day out curing the patients affected from coronavirus and serving the humanity selflessly also for being patience , showing gratitude & support to the Company. You emerged as a true saviors. This pandemic reminds us that we are not alone in this, we are all connected.
Despite the many difficulties we all face, I’d like to re-assure you that Babylon remains fully committed to doing everything we can ,to support you through this difficult time.Since this front liners are doing everything to safeguard our lives, lets do our bit to maintain social distancing to ensure we support this fight.
